Em Maio finalmente algum progresso no projeto. A bem da verdade, no mês anterior (Abril) houve progresso, mas sem registro fotográfico. Vocês devem se lembrar da pecinha das linhas de arrefecimento do óleo da transmissão automática que quebrou em Janeiro! Pois bem, o Issac encontrou uma substituta e ela foi instalada. Claro que o motor ainda se recusa a funcionar, provavelmente por estar completamente fora do ponto ou sei lá o que, mas pelo menos está virando quando dá a partida. Mas falemos de Maio. Atendendo a pedidos, algo aconteceu no Mustang. O retrovisor direito voltou para o carro e eu remontei os bancos dianteiros (aproveitando para dar uma pintura nas suas partes metálicas) e foi só. O retrovisor esquerdo não voltou porque os cabinhos de aço que fazem o ajuste estão quebrados e preciso dar um jeito de arrumar. De qualquer maneira, creio que farei uma mudança estratégica no projeto. Estava esperando o motor funcionar para então levar o carro para pintar o teto. Como o motor está "fazendo doce" para funcionar estou pensando levar o carro no guincho para a funilaria e pintar o teto antes. Assim, posso adiantar a colocação de todos os acabamentos no carro que já estão limpos, pintados e polidos. Vamos ver...

Finally in May, there was some progress. Truth be told, there had been some progress during April, but with no photographic record (You may recall that connection of the automatic transmission cooling that broke in January. Well, my friend Isaac found a replacement and we installed it. Unfortunately, the engine is running like crap yet). But let's talk about May. The right mirror has been installed. The left one had those tiny adjustment cables broken so I would have to have them fixed before installing it. Also, by the end of the month, I had re-assembled the fronts seats.

By then, I was thinking... I could change the strategy for the next steps. I was thinking about having the engine running so I could take the car to the paint shop to have the vinyl top painted. However, assuming that the engine does not look like it will be ready soon, I could take the car to the paint shop sooner so that, after the vinyl top gets painted, I can start putting all the trims back (they are all cleaned, polished and, in some cases, painted, just waiting to be re-installed).
